Show A SLIM MEETING. Spanish Fork Citizens Stay Away From School Meeting Numerously. The trustees of the Spanish Fork school district called a raeetinp of the voters , of the district at the Central school building at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon,. The meeting was called to levy a tax to pay off the debt on the Ceitral school building, and to meet current expenses. At the time for calling the meeting to order only the School board, janitor of building aud two citizens were present. The financial report of the board for the school season was read, and the polls were then declared open for. voting. They were kept open until three o'clock, when the returns showed as follows: 16 votes for a 4 mill tax and 1 for no tax. It is a lamentable fact that a meeting meet-ing of this importance should have received the small attention it did. A poll of 17 votes only in a city of the size of this, makes the election almost a farce. The people, when disatis-(ied disatis-(ied with the action of a meeting of this sort have only themselves to thank if they will not turn out and do their duty to themselves and their fellowmen. THE FISH LAWS. Spanish Fork People Believe They are Being Broken. The spring Ashing has commenced and the festive small boy and old sport with their fishing tackles are very much in evidence every day at the dm down in Spanish Fork river. Several of of Spanish Fork's leading citizens have made a complaint that they are satisfied that many flagrant violations of the flsh law have taken place there. They state that they have written to the game and flsh commissioner at Provo, but so far he has not taken any notice of their complaints. They state that a fish run way should be put in at the dam so that the trout could make their way on up the stream. As it is now they are stopped at the dam. where they remain, thereby becoming an easy prey to the people who manipulate manipu-late the "snagging" outfits. This state of affairs should receive the attention of the authorities. If it does, it will be the first time a Provo flsh and game warden ever coucerned himself about anything that was done outside of his home town. These people are notoriously slack about attending to their duties, and this city is not the first one to have a kick com'.ng, Bncklen'g Aruica Salve.
