At the last, meeting a couple of weeks since about 200 people were turned a war, there being no seats. This demonstrates the interests taken !n educational matters here. Death of Mrs. Hausou. Mrs. Hanson, of Lake Shore, died last Thursday, after an illness of about ten days. The funeral was held Saturday, and the remains interred in-terred in the cemetery at this place. Anderson, the Springville photographer, will be in town on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week, securing counterfeit presentments of those desirous of such. The City will drive a well on the East bench, iu the endeavor to secure a flow of water for irrigating and sprinkling purposes. The water at present in use is somewhat alkaline, and is unpleasant. J. Creer went to Springville, Tuesday, on business connected with the assignment of the Arm of Boyer & Bringhurst, of that c iiy. Mr. Creer represents the Co-Operative Wagon & Machine Co. of Salt Lake, and in company of Mr. Bringhurst, went on to Salt Lake Ttesday afternoon. The City has made an appropriation of $100, with which to provide gravel for such citizens who desire to haul and spread same for the improvement of sidewalks in front of their premises. It is to be hoped that advantage will be taken of this, and a great deal of improvement result. Irving Collctt, the Spanish Fork man charged with fornication with Elenore Beckstrom, appeared before Judge Dusenberry and waived the reading of the information, and bis attorney made motion to quash the complaint, which was overruled, as was the demurrer. He plead guilty to both and was fined $5 for the first and $20 for the second. Young had created a disturbance at a dar.ee, and tried to choke his wife, from whom he had been separated for some time, because she would not dance with him. En quirer, Friday. Gibson, manager of The Independent In-dependent at Springville, was in town Tuesday, arranging for full and complete com-plete news reports for his paper. Mr. Gibson was editor of the defunct Spanish Fork Herald at one time, and has never recovered from a sort of liking for this city.
