Felt, editor of the Springville Independent and president of the Utah Press association, came up from Salt Lake this morning and immediately imme-diately interviewed the local newspaper news-paper men regarding the Utah Press association. Dave will soon leave for a niLssion to the Southern States, and he is already doing good work among the brethren, having converted two members of the local press into joining join-ing the Press association. Dave formerly for-merly had the reputation of being a handsome man. but since he got into the unfortunate habit, of getting his face in the papers he would hardly be recognized by bis friends. Mr. Felt returned to Salt Lake this afternoon after-noon and will proceed to Springville Ibis evening. Park City Correspondence Correspon-dence Tribune. D. P. Felt, editor of the Springville Independent and president of the Utah Press association, is visiting relatives at Park City today, preparatory prepara-tory to his departure on his mission in middle Tennessee in August. If he is as successful in the missionary field as he has been in the journalistic Held, be prepared for an influx of neophytes into the state whose centennial cen-tennial is being celebrated. Felt, president of the Utah Press association; C. P. Diehl, secretary; Reporter Weaver of the Ogden Standard; Major Littlefleld, of the Utah State Journal; 11. S. Sleater, W. S. Newberry, E. M. West, and Uosenbaum, late of the Logan Nation. A meeting of the Utah Press association asso-ciation was held at Gartleld beach yesterday at which time it was decided de-cided to postpone the excursion which had been announced for Castilla Springs in order not to conflict with the local celebrations throughout the state on Monday, July 5th. Eureka Democrat. President Felt, of the Utah Press association, has been called upon a mission and consequently the election of a new president for that organization organiza-tion is necessary. The election is called to le held at Castilla, July 5th. We note among t he list of members several capable, bona fide newspaper men who would fill the position with credit to the profession, and hope that the choice of the members will fall upon one of that class. Tiotic Miner. We regret that we are unable to attend the meeting of the Utah Press association at Castilla Springs as we have an engagement for that date. We heartily wish our brothers of the pen a right merry outing. Who more deserving. Randolph Round-Up. The Montana newspaper men, according ac-cording to the Denver Republican, are being as hospitably entertained in Denver as they were in Salt Lake. The State Editorial association is acting act-ing as host and the programme of entertainment includes electric car rides over the city, visits to Manhattan Man-hattan Reach and Elitch's Gardens and a luncheon at the Albany hotel. Today will be spent at Glen wood Springs. The return trip to Montana will he begun tonight. The party will reach Salt Lake at 12:25 tomorrow and leave for the north at 7 o'clock in the evening. Herald. Dave Felt, the bright editor of the Independent, Springville, has been called on a mission. In his short stay here he induced several people to lend him money and i accommodate him in other ways, and tried hard to get credit at some of the stores, but failed. Menkkay & Co. A fatal accident was narrowly escaped es-caped by Miss Cora Harrison and her mother on Monday evening. These ladies were driving over a bridge on the street east of the meetinghouse. The horse became unmanagable and upset the buggy from the bridge.
