Show 13 SPRINGVILLE HERALD, Section 2 Thursday, March 21 2007 "WaiUfB Soccer today against Aimee Morin SHS STAFF WRITER The Red Devil Boys' Soccer Soc-cer team had two games last week. The first game was on Tuesday, Mar. 13, at Mt. View. There were no points scored the whole game, so it finished in a tie, zero to zero. JV also tied 2-2. The Thursday game against Tooele was very 1 Em students The yearly SHS Hollywood Hol-lywood trip was a great success. SHS students left Monday night and arrived in California early Tuesday Tues-day morning. Faculty and students were hoping to find a warm and sunny climate, but it was raining (and even hailing at some point). Fortunately, the bad weather didn't hamper the excitement of the students; Anthony Dye and May-son May-son Madsen ran into the ocean while it was raining rain-ing and they still had their clothes, shoes and hats on. That same day, they also had the opportunity to go to Knott's Berry Farm. Goals were made by Jacob Raw-le, Raw-le, Andrew Dearden and Cameron Brink, and the teams went into overtime. For overtime, two sets of 10-minute periods are played, or the game ends when one team scores. After Af-ter the first set of ten minutes, min-utes, time was almost out, vmwmmm enjoy trip to rides without having to wait so long. On the second day of the trip the students attended a live audience taping of the TV show "The New Adventures Ad-ventures of old Christine." They learned a lot, they had fun, and they even had a dance contest in between takes (Peter Taylor won that contest). The students also had a chance to go on tour of famous fa-mous people's homes; they got to see Dr. Phil's house and Snoop Dogg's house and many more homes of the rich and famous. The third day they went to a live taping of the Dr. Phil show. They also had a chance to tour Paramount Pictures Pic-tures and see the Hollywood Holly-wood walk of fame and Quilts Clocks '- - . ( ! - - A , f i ; Apr wnnnTfmTo - EST .,1986. the Dons and Andrew Dearden was the one to end the game with a smashing goal. JV also won that game 5-0. Today, Thursday, Mar. 22, Spanish Fork is coming to play here in Springville. Varsity plays at 3:30, and JV plays right after. Come and watch; soccer games are a lot of fun, especially when your team is invincible. invin-cible. Hollywood the wax museum. The fourth day the students went to Universal Studios for the whole day and as Alana Root says, "It was the best day out of the whole trip." On the very last day of the trip, the students stu-dents had a chance to go to Six Flags. The weather was much better, but the wait was long for many of the rides. The annual film trip gives SHS students the opportunity to learn all about the entertainment industry, and the many interesting things that go into creating TV shows and movies, both on the stage and off the stage. The trip is educational and fun at the same time, and students from Springville High seem to love it. Program to work with the students of Oakridge School for the handicapped. This program provides movement and co-ordination practice and is just plain lots of fun! Any student who is go- . ing to be at least a sophomore sopho-more at SHS is eligible to try out. You must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Tryout applications are in the front offices of Springville High School, Mapleton Jr. High and Springville Jr. High. So be sure to fill out an application ap-plication if you are interested inter-ested in trying out!
