At the last regular meeting- of the Literary Circle, Miss Dama Grant entertained with a splendid splen-did one-act play and Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Mower in an interesting manner, reviewed the book, "it Can't Happen Here." The meetings are held regularly regu-larly on the first and third Wednesdays Wed-nesdays of each month and a number of fine programs are outlined out-lined for the remainder of the season. Last Wednesday evening at the home of Myrle Fletcher, the Thespian Dramatic Honor Society So-ciety held its monthly meeting. A very interesting program was given, and the play, "The Light," was presented to the group, directed di-rected by Miss Park. The program was as follows: A history of Richard Thorn and his wife Harriet Anna Glines Thorn, given by a grand daughter, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet J. Miner, MrsrAmy Donaldson Donald-son gave the lesson and Phyllis Bramall entertained with piano selections. Singing was under direction di-rection of Director Mary Boyer and Organist Ida Bird. At the close of the program refreshments were served to 29 members and guests. The program was presided pre-sided over by Mrs. Catherine Sumsion, Sum-sion, first lieutenant. In honor of Alfred Giles who is eighty seven years old, a number of relatives and friends held a social so-cial at his home on his birthday last Saturday. Social chat and lunch were diversions. Special guests at the party were his two sisters, Mrs. Louisa Bulkley who is 84 years old, and Mrs. Frances Peterson who is 82. R. Eddington. The program featured an interesting paper on "The Life and Works of Louise M. Alcott," given by Mrs. A. M. Lyall. Mrs. Jessie Condie and Mrs. Helen Thorpe entertained with two vocal duets., Mrs. D. B. Welch, president, was in charge.
