Show HEALTH UNIT REPORT MADE Toxin-Anii-Toxin Campaign Is Major Activity . of Past Month. The toxin-anti-toxin campaign conducted during November by the nursing service of the Utah county health unit, constituted the major activity oC the month, according to Mrs. Evalina Reed, R. N., whose report has been submitted to the county commissioners. Three Districts Covered ' The campaign covered all three school districts of the county and 950 children in all were given the complete series of three inoculations. inocula-tions. The call of the health unit to immunize the children against the diphtheria peril, met with the greatest response in the Nebo district dis-trict with 453 inoculations, Alpine district had 263, and Provo city reported re-ported 229. Baby conferences, five in number, were held during the week in Dividend, Divi-dend, Spanish Fork, Payson, Salem, and Goshen. Out of 64 babies examined, ex-amined, 14 were declared normal, and 129 defects were noted in the others, and 13 corrections were noted. Other activities reported by Mrs. tleed were as follows: 2 lectures, in Provo and American Fork; 12 calls on pre-school children; 3 prenatal pre-natal consultations; 64 pieces of literature distributed, and 45 business busi-ness calls made. Mothers' Classes Held Mothers' classes have been held during the month weekly at Spring-ville Spring-ville and American Fork. A new class w'll begin Friday at Spanish Fork, from 9:30 to 11:30. 1 Baby conferences during the coming week will be held as follows: fol-lows: Monday at Pleasant Grove; Wednesday at American Fork; Thursday at Alpine, and Friday at .Lehi. |
