Spring-ville. In fact so determined were the Provonians that in the last two minutes they tied the score at 22. During the remainder of the game, Provo had an opportunity to score three ixdnts from the foul line and failed, while Springville scored its winning two points from free throws. The final score was 24 to 22. It was only through the fighting tactics which won for Springville the state championship last year that won for them the game Friday Fri-day evening. Provo played desperately desper-ately throughout the game and clung close to the Springville score throughout the game. Springville was off color and did not play the snappy, consistent game in which the team easily, defeated de-feated the strong Nephi squad a week ago in Springville. Dixon for Provo was the star for his team. He played an exceptional fast and snappy game, covering thp floor well and succeeded in find ing the hoop four times. He was weak on the foul pitching, missing four. Burt and Clark w-ere the stars of the contest, the major honors going to Clark. It was his foul pitching that really won the game for his team. Each side made the same number num-ber of baskets, nine. Both teams were very weak on the free throws, Provo, 'however, being weaker than Springville in this department. Springville made six out of 12 free trials while Provo could only find the hoop four times out of 11 chances. It was this failure on the part of Provo to score from the free line that lost them the game. A large number of fans from Provo attended the game and keen rivalry in tire rooting between .the Provo and the Springville fans was a feature of the game. I The result of the game eliminates Provo from the state tournament Even though Provo should win .he remaining games still 0 be played against Nephi and Payson, the team will not be eligible to go to the state meet unless Spanish Fork should defeat the Nephi team, which is highly improbable.
