Show OUR CONGRATULATION The Springville Herald desires to congratulate the members of the local post of the American Legion and the Springville band for the splendid Pioneer Day celebration staged here. There are few things that redound to the credit of a city and bring to it such favorable impressions as celebrations such as that given here in commemoration commem-oration of the 81st anniversary of this great commonwealth. Leadership such as that given this worthy movement by the Legionnaires is the life of any city. The inclination to do things coupled with an ambition to carry them out are factors that make for broader and better community life. Of course, no one organization can do things on a'' broad scale without the hearty cooperation of' others. This assistance was given to the Legion by the Springville band, which organization of itself is a great factor in the life of this community, the business interests of the city, and other patriotic, civic and social organizations, all combining in an effort to make Pioneer day a huge success. That they were successful is indicated by the thousands who came here to witness the spectaacle, and also by the favorable comments heard on every hand. We understand that the Springville post of the Legion is already planning for the proper observance of Armistice Day, November 11. Doubtless whatever this patriotic pat-riotic organization undertakes to do will be done well on that occasion as it was on Pioneer day. We commend to other organizations greater leadership in community activities. And when one organization attempt to put ovar a worthwhile project it is a splendid thing to have the support of the others. |
