Show FARM BUREAU ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT The annual election of officers of the Springville Farm bureau took place at a well-attonil:id meeting meet-ing held nt the public library Friday Fri-day evening. December Kl. . Five directors were elected, as follows : George L. Barron. Alma Fullmer. Will Hill. Wm. Mower, and Wm. Whitehead. Immediately after the election of the directors the following organization wi:s perfected per-fected : George L. Harron, president presi-dent ; Wm. Whitehead, vice president presi-dent ; Will Hill, secretary, ;:nd Wm. Mower, treasurer. The meet ing was in chat ge of Alma Fullmer, president of the Springvile Farm Bureau local. After the election of officers tho time was turned over to M. F. Gran-da Gran-da 11, Jr., manager of the Springville Spring-ville Canning company, and a general gen-eral discussion was entered into in regard to the installing of pea. canning can-ning apparatus at the Springville canning factory and the construction construc-tion of vineries at various parts in the district.- ; The sentiment as expressed at the meeting by the farmers 'was that they were desirous of co-operating with the canning company in putting put-ting over the new project. It was decided to circulate a list among the farmers of Springville and Mapleton and see how many acres the farmers would be willing to sign up for the coming season. If 300 acres could be secured Mr. Crandall said the canning company would immediately take steps to secure the seed and the machinery for the industry would be installed by the time the peas were ready to harvest. |
