Show : FUNERAL HELD WED. FOR LOCAL WOMAN Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Nellie Strong Rowland, 71, widow of Edwin Rowland, who died Sunday Sun-day at the family residence, 658 East, Fourth South, following a six-weeks' illness. The services were conducted in the Fourth ward chapel, and directed di-rected by Erwin Sheffield, bishop of the Sixth ward. Burial was in the City cemetery, directed by A. Y. Wheeler and Son mortuary. Mrs. Rowland was born in Springville, September 26, 1873, a daughter of OZias and Mary E. Mendenhall Strong. She married Edwin Rowland in this city, September Sep-tember 27, 1892, and had made her home here most of her life. She was a member of the L. D. S. church and active in the Relief Society. Surviving besides her husband, are two sons and a daughter, Bert and Amasa Rowland, Springville, Mrs. Mabel Thomas of Culver City, Calif., nine grandchildren, two of whom are in the armed forces, and seven great-grandchildren; also a brother, Willis Strong of Springville.
