Show McPherson-Keller Nuptial Rites Performed at Home Wedding i IjEGION AUXILIARY TO MEET WEDNESDAY Howard Salisbury will review an opera at a meeting of the American Am-erican Legion Auxiliary to be held Wednesday, September 11, in the Memorial hall, beginning at 8 p. m. Mrs. Ada Barron, president, will conduct the meeting, with Mrs. Delia Angus acting as hostess and Mrs. Leah Harrison and Mrs. Af-ton Af-ton Clark assisting her. The program pro-gram is under the direction of Mrs. Emma Long, chairman of the music committee. All members are invited to be present. HAPPY SEWING CIRCLE ENJOYS CANYrON TRIP Members of the Happy Sewing Circle of Mapleton enjoyed three days of last week camping at Birch's camp in Hobble Creek canyon. They enjoyed hiking, swimming, swim-ming, and a campfire program in the evenings. i Attending were Mary Beesley, Anna Mae Bird, Melva Deanne Bird, Ruth Shepherd, Frances Allred, Shirley Whitney, Carma Hopla, and Lois Henderson. They were chaperoned by their leader, Mrs. Elaine Nielson, and her sister, sis-ter, Miss Thelma Hardy of Provo. In the presence of the immediate imme-diate families, Miss Margaret Mc-Pherson, Mc-Pherson, daughter of Mrs. Flora McPherson, became the bride of Tom Keith Keller of Manti at a charming home wedding Saturday night at the home of the bride, with Elder Callahan of Provo officiating. of-ficiating. A family dinner followed the ceremony, after which the young couple left by train for a honeymoon honey-moon trip to Chicago. Upon their return they plan to make their home in Provo. The bride is a graduate of Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university, and Mr. Keller is a graduate of the University Uni-versity of Utah. Since her graduation, gradu-ation, Miss McPherson has been employed in the County Child Welfare department at Provo. A number of social functions are being planned in honor of the young couple upon their return re-turn from the east. AA'ERETT-HJORTH ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Jay Averett wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Louise, to Carlos Hjorth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth. The marriage is planned to take place the latter part of September Septem-ber in the Salt Lake temple. |
