Show w Helen Moir-Elden Peery Marriage Performed at Evanston, Wyoming EASTERN VISITORS WERE HONORED at a number of functions given by Springville friends and relatives during the past week. The guests were Mary Grimes and Charles Schwartz of Mays-ville, Mays-ville, Kentucky, and Miss Genevieve Gene-vieve Schwartz of Cincinnati, Ohio. Miss Olive Childs was hostess to the group at a canyon party. They motored over the Alpine scenic loop, visited Timpanogos cave and had dinner in American Fork canyon. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Roylance, Lucy Roylance, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. Erline Roylance, Mr.- and Mrs. Finley Roylance, Mrs. Mary Schwartz, Mrs. Lillian Huntington, Hunting-ton, and Olive Childs, accompanied by the visitors, enjoyed a trip to Bingham canyon, with dinner following fol-lowing at Saltair. Miss Lucy Roylance and Miss Helen Wheeler accompanied the visit6rs on Tuesday to the parks of Southern Utah, and Miss Wheeler entertained at dinner for them Wednesday night. Mrs. Lottie Hall has returned to her home in Rigby, Idaho, following, fol-lowing, a month's visit with Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hall and other relatives and friends here. . 4 Of interest to their many friends the announcement of the mar-Lee mar-Lee of Miss Helen Moir, daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. Agnes Moir of .Provo, t0 Elden Peery, son of Mrs. R. E. Peery of this city. The marriage took place Tuesday Tues-day July 15. at Evanston, Wyoming,' Wyom-ing,' with Bishop Brough performing' perform-ing' the ceremony. The bride attended Brigham young university and has been employed at the J. C Penney company com-pany for the past four years. jIr peery is employed at the G. Lowry Anderson garage. A number of parties are being planned in honor of the young couple. The newlyweds will make their home in Provo. XEEDLE AND THREAD CLUB" MET THURSDAY at the home of Mrs. Naomi Mc-Kee. Mc-Kee. The girls worked on their sewing projects. Present were Dorothy May Groesbeck, . Shirley Allen, Kathleen Kath-leen Peterson,. Peggy Crandall,. and Beth Ann Anderson. FIDELITY BRDDGE CLUB WAS ENTERTAINED Thursday at the home of Mrs. Olive Miller. Lunch was served early in . the evening, after which bridge was played with the high score prize going to Mrs. Rose Roylance and the second prize to Mrs. Ann Johnson. John-son. EVA HOOVER WAS FETED AT A PARTY held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Orval Singleton, the occasion being Mrs. Hoover's birthday. birth-day. A delicious luncheon was served, serv-ed, with a beautifully decorated birthday cake centering the table. Social conversation and sewing were enjoyed by the - following guests: Mrs. Fred Singleton, Mrs. Clyde Singleton, Mrs. Len Singleton, Single-ton, Mrs. Fred Clark, Mrs. Max-ine Max-ine Elliot, Donna Singleton, Gloria Glor-ia Singleton, and Dorothy Hoover, Hoo-ver, all of Provo, Veloy Singleton and the hostess of Springville. A PARTY WAS GIVEN HONORING MRS. PARKER of Tacoma, Washington, Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Mary Schwartz. The party, which was in the form of a "White Eelephant Party," Par-ty," featured progressive neighbor as the diversion. Mrs. Pearl Smith won the prize. Luncheon was served in conclusion, con-clusion, to the - following: Helen Wheeler, Lucy Roylance, Maurine and Marion Nelson, Olive Childs, Mrs. Erling Roylance, Ruth Anderson, An-derson, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Mrs. Florence Roylance, Mrs. Luell Best, the guest of honor, and the, hostess. THE NEEDLE AND THREAD . CLUB MET TUESDAY afternoon at the home of their leader, Mrs. Naomi McKee. The girls worked on their projects pro-jects during the afternoon. Present were Beth Ann Anderson, Ander-son, Shirley Allen, Betty Jane Al-leman, Al-leman, and Peggy Ann Crandall. THE EIGHT KITCHENETTES HAD A MEETING THURSDAY at the home of Mildred Storey with Mary Ann Tranchell acting as assisting hostess. Recipes were collected for the girls', files and . two milk drinks were prepared. Those attending the meeting were. Mary Ann Tranchell, Dorothy Doro-thy Cranmer, Mathelda Reynolds, Darlene Ewell, Margaret Harrison, Har-rison, Bonnie Ray Smith, Barbara Palmer, Mildred Storey, and the leaders, Mrs. Elva Tipton and Mrs. Winnie Mower. The next meeting will be held at the home of Bonnie Rae Smith with Dorothy Cranmer assisting. A LAWN PARTY WAS HELD , AT THE STOREY HOME Saturday, July 12, which proved to be a delightful party. H.. H. club girls, Phyllis Diamond, Dia-mond, Betty Roylance, Illah Sund-blom, Sund-blom, Norma Wimber, Gloria Christensen, Laverne Beardall and Laverne Case, were present. Games were played, after which a delicious luncheon . was . served cafeteria style. |
