Show Pretty Home Wedding Unites Couple; Honored Same Evening at Reception A pretty wedding of the Valentine week was that of Miss Gwen Reid, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Omar Reid of SpringviUe, who exchanged vows with Ed- ward Jones of Thistle in a ceremony cere-mony at the home of the bride's parents, February 7. The bride was attired in traditional tradi-tional white satin and carried a bouquet of red rose-buds centered with a white orchid. She was attended at-tended by Margaret Alleman, Jer-aldine Jer-aldine Murray, Veda and Lois Reid as bridesmaids. Each was attired in a red ballarena-length taffetta gown and held heart-shaped floral bouquets encircled with lace. Bishop Grant Torn of the Fifth Ward officiated at the wedding ceremony which was attended by immediate family members and, close friends. The couple was honored hon-ored with a reception later in the evening attended by many guests from SpringviUe and out-of-town. Among the latter were five sisters of the bride's mother; also the oride's two grandmothers, Mrs. Joseph O. Prince and Mrs. Mary K. Reid of Panguitch. Aunts and uncles of the bride and other relatives from out of town included: Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Worthen and son Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Worthen of Drager-ton, Drager-ton, Verdee Deuel of Garfield, Mr. and Mrs. Val B. Jennings of Price, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Alvey, Mrs. Mildred Deuel, Margie Prince, Mel-ba Mel-ba Jennings, Panguitch, Evelyn Mortensen, Circleville, Delia Houston, Hous-ton, St. George, Merle MeGregor, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Houston and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Worthen of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Pace and Colleen Pace came from Thistle; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gourley of Spanish Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Edwlrd Pace and Coleen and Buddy Pace of Thistle. The home was prettily decorated for the wedding with Valentines of red and white; also red and white tapers and red and white carnations. carna-tions. A 3-tiered wedding cake adorned the table with red candles on either end. After a few days honeymoon, cut short by the heavy snow storm in southern Utah, the couple returned re-turned to make their home for the present in Thistle. |
