Show Lovely Reception Given To Honor Couple just Wed Wed In Temple Rites . . . " ' ' I I j V? ' 1 j !' - j j f . i ' I ' I . S V I f - - k 1 ' " i " I I Mr. and Mrs. Edwin T. Thomas, nee Florice Hjorth i 1 Highlighting recent nuptial events was the wedding reception held Friday evening in the Second-Eighth Second-Eighth ward church complimenting compliment-ing newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ed-win T. (Ted) Thomas. The couple were married Wednesday, January 10, in the Salt Lake Temple, with President Robert D. Young performing per-forming the ceremony. Witnessing the temple rites were parents and all five brothers and sisters of the bride with their wives and husbands; also parents of the groom and close friends. The bride is the former Florice Hjorth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth and Mr. Thomas is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Thomas of Spanish Fork. For her wedding reception, the bride chose a gown of ivory satin entrain with deep lace yoke and pointed sleeves. Her veil of brides' illusion was held to her head by a crown of ivory-colored orange blossoms. She held a gorgeous bouquet, "U"-shape of all white camellias and split carnations and white satin streamers. Miss Anna Hjorth, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were, Mrs. Barbara Smith of Tooele, Mrs. Ramona ' Barker of Salt Lake City, a missionary mis-sionary companion of the bride; I Mrs. Irene Ewing and Miss Elaine I Jones. They wore pastel formals 1 and held matching "U"-shaped bouquets of baby mums and car-I car-I nations. Arden Tuckett of Spanish Fork was best man. Standing in the line also were three flower girls little Jaaiet Miller and Ellen and Mary Hjorth. They were attired in orchid formals for-mals and each held a yellow rose. Mrs. Hjorth wore a rose colored formal for her daughter's wedding and Mrs. Thomas chose black with figured bodice. Their corsages were of Dutch Iris. Serge Huff acted as master of ceremonies during the program in which numbers were given as follow: prayer, Weldon Hyer, missionary mis-sionary friend of the bride; vocal number, Bernard R. Tanner of Salt Lake City, missionary fri,end; vocal duet, Mr. Tanner and sister Elfreda; vocal solo, Elaine Jones. The Missionary Sweethearts Club of Provo of which the bride was a member, sang the traditional sweetheart song. Joan Marsh gave a reading as did Nona Kay Francis Fran-cis of Spanish Fork. The closing prayer was by Richard Nelson, missionary friend of the groom. An attractive color scheme of yellow and orchid was carried out in various details of the reception with daffodils and Dutch Iris being be-ing used in decorations. A beautiful beau-tiful 3-tiered wedding cake, topped topp-ed with a miniature temple, surrounded sur-rounded with a tiny fence of icing and decorative flowers of yellow, centered the serving table. The cake was made by the bridegrooms mother and decorated by an aunt. Refreshments were served under direction of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Thora Dally assisted by Rada Miner, Maria and Myra Williams of Payson, Doreen Fox, Inez Biggs and Reva Carlisle. The gift room was in charge of Mrs. Cleonda Miner, Mrs. Delia Johnson find Mrs. Grace Crandall Cran-dall assisted by nieces and nephews neph-ews of the .bride, Ronald Miller, Calvin, Susan and Nolene Hjorth. Acting as hosts and hostesses were, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Mark - Anderson of Spanish Fork. The newlyweds both of whom are returned missionaries, are making their home at 43 West Third North for the present. Mr. Thomas plans to go into the service soon. |
