Mapleton man takes bride in lovely wedding ceremony Steven A. Kennedy of Mapleton, Maple-ton, son of Mrs. Clea K. Coff-man Coff-man of Richland, Wash., claimed claim-ed charming Miss Joan Elmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Lynn Elmer of Spanish Fork as his bride in a wedding ceremony cere-mony January 20. The marriage took place in the Palmyra Stake House with the ceremony being performed Dy the brides grandtather, John F. Warner, Jr. A reception recep-tion followed. The bride chose a wedding gown of silk organza, floor length with chapel train, trimmed trim-med with lace medallions and sequins and pearls. Her fingertip finger-tip veil was arranged to a pearl and sequin studded cap and she carried a bridal bouquet bou-quet of red rose-buds and white carnations cascading from a white orchid. Her sister, Mrs. George Abbott Ab-bott attended as matron of honor while Mrs. Lionel Ave-rett, Ave-rett, Mrs. Barry Vincent, Jer-rie Jer-rie Butler, Diane Butler and Elaine Elmer, a sister, were bridesmaids. They wore red brocade satin sheaths with white accessories and their corsages were red rose buds and white carnations. Standing in the line also were parents of the bride and groom and the best man, Larry Simmons of Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Jolm F. Warner War-ner and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Stringer greeted guests at the door. The guest book was presided pre-sided over by Diane West. Members of Joan's Mutual class served refreshments. The newlyweds are making their home in Spanish Fork. Joan is completing her senior year in high school and her husband is employed in Orem. |
