Show Virl L. Harrison Weds Dorothy Dixon in Temple MR. AND MRS. BLAINE MINER ENTERTAINED FRIENDS at their home Friday evening. The guests enjoyed a delicious spring j luncheon early in the evening and later played cards. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fullmer, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cherrington, Mr. and Mrs. Don Miner and the host and hostess. r An announcement of interest to their many friends and relatives is the marriage of Virl L. Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon W. Har-j Har-j rison of this city, and Dorothy Dix-I Dix-I on, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Hen-ry Aldous Dixon of Ogden. The marriage was performed in the Salt Lake temple on Friday, by Elder David O. McKay. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, parents of the groom, and his grandmother, Mrs. G. W. Harrison, also Dr. and Mrs. Henry A. Dixon, parents of the bride, and her grandmother, Mrs. Sarah A. Dixon of Provo. The bridegroom came by plane from Pasadena, Calif., where he is stationed with the U. S. armed forces. Following their marriage, the couple were honored with an informal infor-mal reception at the Dixon home in Ogden, where a nicely arranged dinner was served to members of the two immediate families. Later the couple motored to Lo--gan and left Saturday to make their home in Pasadena. The bride chose for her going-away going-away costume a navy blue and red gown with matching accessories and corsage of gardenias. At the reception, she wore a pale blue bengaline with orchid corsage. Complimenting the bride-elect, a number of social events have been given the past two weeks, including a lovely trousseau tea to which a number of Springville relatives rel-atives and friends attended, together toge-ther with dinner parties and showers. A BIRTHDAY DINNER WAS GIVEN by Mrs. Parley Perry of Mapleton Maple-ton and her sister, Mrs. George Vincent, in celebration of their birthdays at the Perry home Saturday Sat-urday evening. Children, grandchildren grand-children and brothers and sisters of the honored guests were invited. in-vited. Dinner was served at one long table centered with a beautiful centerpiece of daffodils and hyacinths. hya-cinths. Covers were arranged for the following: Mr. and Mrs. James S. Perry of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Perry and Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Perry of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Taylor and daughter, Patricia, Mr. and Mrs. Parley Perry, Mr. and Mrs. George Vincent Vin-cent and daughters, LaRue and Marilyn, and sons, Elmo and George, of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wignall, Arthur Gallup of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Ostler of Springville, Mrs. James Bowen of Spanish Fork, and Mrs. Melinda Bird of Mapleton. MRS. FLORENCE BOYER WAS CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Fidelity bridge group at her home Thursday evening eve-ning A delicious luncheon was served before the games and prizes during the evening went to Mrs. Rose Roylance, Mrs. Ann Johnson, and Mrs. Mary Johnson. Others attending the party were Mrs. Floss Cates, Mrs. Mary Clegg, Mrs. Margie Davis, Mrs. Fay Cranmer and Mrs. Olive Miller. |
