Camp Kolob gave a banquet and program in the First ward hall under the direction of Captain Flossie Sanford, to which partners were invited as special guests. Monday noon, Camp Aaron Johnson John-son entertained at a dinner at the City park and also a program later in the afternoon, directed by Mrs. Arthur Hatch, captain. Camp Hobble Creek plans to conduct their Brigham Young luncheon in connection with their regular meeting on June 17, directed di-rected by Captain Myrtle Childs. "TrrTmT Mrs. Elias A. The entertaining rooms were beautifully decorated with bridal wreath and lilacs and after the program a delicious luncheon was served. The guest of honor was presented present-ed with many lovely wedding gifts. THE 4-H VICTORY CLUB MET ON WEDNESDAY at the home of Mrs. Ida Harmer, where Mrs. Bessie K. Lemon, county demonstration agent, instructed in-structed the girls on the summer sewing projects. She also gave instructions in-structions to the new club ' members. mem-bers. Officers of the club are: Bonnie Dalley, president; Ruth Hafen, vice-president; Norma Sumsion, secretary; Delores Childs and Voneta Miner, song and cheer leaders; Pauline Boyer, organist; Joylene Rawle, reporter. Other club members include: Anna Jean Erdmann, Mary Louise Lowe, Naomi Llewellyn, Lois Curtis, Cur-tis, Joyce Lowe, Larnel Lowe, and Edith Van Patten. COMPLIMENTING MRS. JACK CLOWARD the former Mern rewerton, who was wed on May 28, a number of social events have been given the past few days. On Friday, Mrs. Brewerton, mother mo-ther of the bride, entertained at a miscellaneous shower at her home annroximatelv 45 relatives and MRS. MARY WITNEY WAS HOSTESS FRIDAY afternoon to members of the Alpha Beta club at her home. The program pro-gram featured a talk on international interna-tional relations by Prof. Snow of Brigham Young university; violin selections by Mrs. Eileen Bird, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Mary Bird; and vocal solos by Mrs. Geraldine E. Simmons, accompanied by Mrs. Bird. . At the close of the meeting, a tasty luncheon was served by the hostess to about 20 club members. friends. A review of the book, "A Little Lower Than the Angels," by Virginia Sorenson, was given in a pleasing manner Mrs. Helen Thorpe, sister of the author. A delicious luncheon was served in conclusion and the guest of honor opened her many lovely gifts. On Wednesday evening, Mrs. John Cloward entertained at a shower at her home in Salem for a large group of relatives and friends. Many lovely wedding gifts were received by the bride and the hostess served a nicely arranged and tasty luncheon at the close of the party. Donette Fry also entertained at a shower for Mrs. Cloward at her home recently. The group, including includ-ing about twenty-five friends, made scrapbooks and enjoyed social so-cial conversation, together with a delicious lunch. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Boyer were in Logan over the week-end to attend at-tend graduation exercises for their son, Keith, from the TJ. S. A. C. Upon graduating from college, he received his commission as second lieutenant in the U. S. army service ser-vice and will report for duty on 'June 5. |
