Show Miss Helen cAlleman Is ' Early Spring Uricle i Of special interest to friends and relatives in Springville is announcement an-nouncement of the marriage of Miss Helen Alleman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Alleman of this city, and Richard E. Ajax, son of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Ajax of Tooele, which took place at Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho, on Tuesday, March 10. The ceremony was performed by President H. W. Henderson of the Pocatello L. D. S. stake, in the early evening at his home. The bride, a teacher at Weber college in Ogden, formerly taught at the Provo high school, and was a member of the Brigham Young university faculty. She has taken a prominent part in women's organizations of the county and state, being a past president of the Epsilon chapter of Delta Theta Chi and is now president of the Utah state council coun-cil of Delta Theta Chi. Mr. Ajax is employed with the U. S. bureau of public roads at Ogden. MR. AND MRS. HARRY EWING ENTERTAINED FRIENDS at a party at their home on Tuesday Tues-day evening. The group enjoyed progressive cards in which Upton Cherrington and Mrs. Orville Child won high score prizes, and Mrs. Bernard Robertson and Orville Child took the consolations. Concluding the party, delicious refreshments were served to Mr. and Mrs. Jay Madsen, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Child, Mr. and Mrs. J. U. Cherrington, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Robertson, Mrs. Thelma Clark, Mrs. Maude Curtis, and the host and hostess. MRS. ALT A TAYLOR GAVE A PARTY for members of the Young Mothers club at her home Friday. Mrs Aria Holt. Mrs. Thp.l- PARI PASSU CLUB MEMBERS WERE ENTERTAINED Friday at the home of Mrs. Francis Fran-cis Hazel. A nicely arranged buffet luncheon served early emphasized a St. Patrick color theme, with sweet peas and tall green tapers used as a centerpiece for the table. The program featured a paper on "Landscaping and Gardening," by Mrs. Roy Hendrichsen, and Ber-nice Ber-nice Palfreyman led the group in community singing. President Betty Bet-ty Sumsion conducted the meeting. Officers of the club for the coming com-ing year were elected to include Mrs. LaRell Johnson, president; Mrs. Rex Larsen, vice-president; Martha Bird, secretary-treasurer; Mrs. Lucille Harmer and Mrs. Ray Klauck, reporters; Mrs. Max Sumsion, parliamentarian; Mrs. Kay Johnson, program chairman; Mrs. Wayne Hacking and Mrs. Finley Roylance, members of the board of directors. Guests at the club meeting were Mrs. Lewis Bird, Mrs. Frank Morgan, Mor-gan, Mrs. Jack Littlefield of Provo, Pro-vo, Mrs. Carl Atkinson, and Mrs. j Louise Cranmer. ! BLAINE BEARDALL WAS GIVEN A PARTY by his mother, Mrs. Max Beardall, on the occasion of his seventh birthday. The little folks joined in ! singing songs, playing games and also had a program and tasty re-i re-i freshments. THE FntEMEN'S AUXILIARY MET ON MONDAY at the home of Mrs. Delia Whitehead, White-head, with Mrs. Leona Wilson as assisting hostess. Card games were the feature of entertainment, with prizes for the games being won by Mrs. Marjorie . Bird and Mrs. Lucille Smith. The meeting was concluded with refreshments served to the following: follow-ing: Mrs. Madeuyn Despain, Mrs. Glenita Ollerton, Mrs. Noma Thorpe, Mrs. Lucille Smith, and Mrs. Marjorie Bird. A SOCIAL HONORED ELMER BLRD retiring captain of the Springville-Mapleton Springville-Mapleton Black Hawk Indian War Veteran and Pioneer committee, Wednesday evening at the Maple-ton Maple-ton amusement hall. Captain A. O. Thorn and other members of the committee had the entertainment in charge. Each committee member invited invit-ed guests and a large crowd joined join-ed in a supper, program and dance during the evening. The guest of honor was also presented with a nice chair as a gift of appreciation apprecia-tion for his services in the committee. MRS. THEDA WARREN 4 WAS HOSTESS to members of the W. N. O. club at her home in Provo Thursday evening. Cards were played during the early part of the evening and later a delicious luncheon was served. Prizes for the card games went to Mrs. Leona Wilson and Mrs. Mary Averett. Others present included Mrs. Noma Thorpe, Mrs. Helen Adams, Mrs. Oris Child, Mrs. Glenita Ollerton, Ol-lerton, Mrs. Winnie Mower, Mrs. Billie Strong, Mrs. Marie Fisher, and Mrs. Wildred Warren, the latter lat-ter two being guests. MINERVA JOHNSON WAS CLUB HOSTESS to members of the Current Study club at the Edna Mae Hedquist home in Provo Monday night. A nicely arranged luncheon in St. Patrick colors was served at small tables early in the evening and later Mrs. G. B. Orton reviewed the book, "King's Row," by Henry Bellamann. In attendance besides club members mem-bers were Mrs. Catherine Clements Cle-ments and Mrs. Orton, guests. MRS. ERVA CHTLDS ENTERTAINED FRIENDS at a dinner and quilting at her home on Wednesday. Guests included Mrs. Nora Weight, Mrs. Hattie Weight, Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. Zelma Beardall, Mrs. Mary Weight, Mrs. Hilda Cherrington, Mrs. Lola Weight, Mrs. Flossie Sanford, Mrs. Minerva Min-erva Weight, Mrs. Viola Long, and Mrs. Bell Childs. MRS. CHARLES FRANKS ENTERTAINED FREDAY afternoon for members of the Home Culture club at her home. The program featured an interesting inter-esting paper on "The Life of Helen Hayes," given by Mrs. G. B. Orton. Or-ton. Mrs. Mary Bird entertained with a piano selection and little Miss Barbara Zumwalt of Salt Lake City, 4-year-old granddaughter granddaugh-ter of Mrs. Franks, in a fine manner man-ner rendered two vocal solos. The club election was conducted conduct-ed during the afternoon and Mrs. Hugh Baxter was elected president, presi-dent, with Mrs. Arthur Condie vice-president, and Mrs. G. B. Orton Or-ton as secretary-treasurer. The officers will select committee chairmen. Refreshments were served at the close of the program to eighteen club members and Mrs. F. M.
