Mapleton Reception Honors Newly Married Mr. and Mrs. David Miner Summer wedding bells rang for popular Margie Wiscombe and David Miner who were married Friday, Fri-day, July 29 in the Manti temple. Margie is the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josephs Wiscombe of Mapleton and David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Miner of Springville. Mark Twain. young Driae ana ner young groom greeted friends and relatives in the Mapleton church Friday evening, even-ing, which was aglow with lighted candles and fragrant flowers. Margie's Mar-gie's gown was fashioned with a form fitting bodice with a three tiered ruffled skirt, ballerina length. She carried a bouquet consisting con-sisting of a single orchid surrounded surround-ed by white daisies and split pink carnations. Her filmy fingertip veil was fastened to a becoming rolled satin crown. Parents of the bridal couple received re-ceived guests with them. Mrs. Wiscombe Wis-combe and Mrs. Miner were both attractive in blue with pink and white corsages. Bill Wiscombe, brother of the bride was also in the receiving line, as was also Fritz Boyer, who performed per-formed the duties of best man. Maid of honor was Collette Miner Min-er with the following brides maids attending her: Margene Hurst, Shirlene Riding, Donna Dee, La-Rene La-Rene Taylor, and Janet VanLeu-van VanLeu-van all charming in pastel formals adorned with complimentry nosegays nose-gays of white daises and split pink carnations. Adding a note of interest to the lineup were the young flower girls carrying tiny nose gays. Included in the group were Leslie Barrus, Louise and Ellen Anderson. Guests were greeted at the door by uncles and aunts of the bridal pair, Mr. and Mrs. Arland Cloward and Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Miner. Presiding at the guest book were pretty Fay Sheffield and Carma Barker. Serving hostess were June Blan-chard, Blan-chard, Beulah Barrus, Carma Anderson, An-derson, Fern Crandall, Mrs. Howard How-ard Brinton and Mrs. Bill Stevenson. Steven-son. Junior members of the Booster's Boos-ter's club, of which Margie had acted as president, did the serving. Geralding Astell, Edna Brown and Patricia Bills arranged the gifts. Bert Strong introduced the' fine program which concluded the evening. The opening prayer was given by Bishop Reed Bennett; Evelyn Boyer sang a solo and was accompanied by Marilyn Thorpe; Vicky Hooper and Ronnie Christensen, Chris-tensen, dance number; Judy Wiscombe, Wis-combe, solo, accompanied by Boyd Hales; a clever toast to the bride was given by Carolyn Everett; Nana Joy Lee and Carl Black sang a duet; a fine tribute to the groom was given by Fred Childs; and the closing prayer was given by LaMar La-Mar Crandall. The young couple . went on a honeymoon trip to California and plan to make their home in Springville. |
