Thefephotogmphy of George MmA Anderson's enwowentai portraits on exhibit atBYU Early in his career, University of Utah architectural historian histo-rian Peter L. Goss stood at a crossroads, considering at least three career choices. One was photography and the allied subject of photographic history. In the end, professor Goss pursued a Ph.D. and a career in architectural history and university administration. Now he has returned to photography, purchasing specialized landscape land-scape cameras, pursuing training from noted American photographer pho-tographer Tillman Crane (an independent fine art photographer photogra-pher from Camden, Maine, and attending an intensive training train-ing at The School of Journalism at Syracuse University (while pursuing a masters in library science). He also studied photography as fine art for a minor to his Ph.D. program at Ohio University. A new exhibition, entitled "The Rephotography of George Edward Anderson's Environmental Envi-ronmental Portraits," offers, for the first time, the result of Goss's life-long interest. The exhibit demonstrates Dr,, Goss's artistic and technical techni-cal expertise as a landscape photographer by juxtaposing 20 images taken by Goss with 20 of the same images taken by George Edward Anderson nearly 100 years earlier.
