Ordinance No. 1-78 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY KNOWN AS DEL NENE EAST ADDITION INTO THE SPRINGVILLE CITY LIMITS Whereas a petition has been filed in writing with the City Council signed by G. Lee Measom, Karen O. Measom, Clark D. Palfreyman, Aldeen C. Palfreyman, William W. Fullmer, and Nellie H. Fullmer, the owners of certain land contiguous to the boundaries of Springville City, and Whereas said petition requests that certain property be annexed into Springville City, and Whereas, the petition has been signed by the owners of all of said property. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Springville, Utah: SECTION I: The following described property is hereby annexed an-nexed by Springville City and from and after the effective date hereof and the filing of all plats and annexation ordinances as required by law shall be included in the boundaries boun-daries of the city: Beginning at a point 352.77 feet West and 1570.07 feet North from the S 4 corner of Section 3, Township 8 South, Range 3 East, Salt Lake Base & Meridian; thence South 67 degrees 09' 07" West 27.29 feet; thence South 70 degrees 56'55" West 158.89 feet; thence South 85 degrees 48'31" West 27.03 feet; thence South 88 degrees 37'01" West 186.04 feet; thence South 83 degrees 58'23" West 162.73 feet; thence North 00 degrees 49'29" East 89.01 feet; thence North 89 degrees 45'20" East to the point of beginning. Sunny Lane, Orem, died Sunday at her home of an extended illness. She was born in Provo on July 26, 1891 to Leonidas Hamilton and Elizabeth Buckley Bean. She married Kenneth Abraham Johnson on April 6, 1916 in Provo. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret E. Johnson, Orem; and Mrs. Oral Johnson Healy, Fairview; four grandchildren; grand-children; nine greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Weston Bean Payson; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Bean Carter, Orem; and Mrs. Elsie Bean Taylor, Mapleton Funeral was Wednesday Wed-nesday in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel in Provo. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery. k Elaine T. Ostergaard Elaine Taylor Ostergaard, 65, of 1946 N. 400 W., Orem died at her home Monday, Feb. 26, 1979 after a long illness. She was born Feb. 5, 1914 in Freedom, Sanpete County, a daughter of Norman Lee and La Vina Christensen Taylor. She married Viggo L. Ostergaard on Sept. 5, 1936 in Manti and the marriage was solemnized later in the Manti LDS Temple. Survivors include her husband; four sons and two daughters, Clark L. Ostergaard, Taylorsville; Richard Floy Ostergaard, Asaska, Ida.; Roger Vic Ostergaard, Orem; Gary Gene Ostergaard, serving an LDS mission in Germany; Ger-many; Mrs. Norman (Lois) Crump, Bluffdale; Mrs. Tim (Gail) Black, Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; four brothers and two sisters, Argle Taylor, Mapleton; Wallace C. Gardner, 70, of 456 South Averett Avenue, Springville, died Monday Mar. 5, 1979 at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo following a long illness. He was born Sept. 18, 1908 at Levan, Utah the son of Richard Henry and Mary Eliza Mangelson Gardner. He was married to Vivan Evon Johnson Aug. 12, 1938 at Fillmore, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1929 with a normal certificate and later received a B.S. Degree in English from that school. He taught elementary school in Levan, Nephi, and Benjamin and in 1944 moved to Springville wKere he taught in the Middle School and in the the Springville Junior High School. His teaching career spanned a total of 41 years. Mr. Gardner was active in the LDS Church and had served as president and counselor in Y.W.M.I.A. and also on the stake board in that organization, He was a high priest at the time of his death. Surviving, wife of Springville, three sons, and one daughter, Richard M. Gardner and Larry M. Gardner, both of Orem; Robert K. Gardner Provo; and Mrs. Susan Pratt, Aberdeen, Idaho; two sisters and four brothers, . Mrs. Esther Eliza Connelly, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Norma Edna Bailey, Nephi; Richard Elgin Gardner, Nephi; George Grant Gardner, Payson; Foster Carlos Gardner, Phoenix, Ariz.; Merlin Chester Gardner, Levan. Eva D. Bowler Eva D. Bowler Funeral for Eva Anderson An-derson Dallin Bowler, 67, who died Monday, Feb. 26, 1979 at her home after a short illness, was Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Second LDS Ward Chapel, 166 S. Main, St. George. She was the sister of Springville woman. She was born April 4, 1911 in Glendale, Kane County, to John Sven and Minda Lucinda Harris Anderson. She married Paul Lavon Dallin in Springville. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. He died Aug. 9, 1958. She then married James Moroni Bowler June 3, 1971 in St. George. She attended Valley High School at Orderville, Utah. She had been employed both at the Kane Co. Rest Home in Kanosh and the Miracle Manor Rest Home in St. George, Utah. She was an active member of the LDS Church, having taught Primary and Sunday school, worked in the Genealogical Library, and was a member of the Singing Mothers. While residing in Springville she was' a member of the First Ward and sang with the ward choir. She was also an ardent temple worker throughout her life. He was . born in Springville to Alfred and Mary Neilson Thorn on Feb. 1, 1910. Mr. Thorn married Irene Dowd in Price on Feb. 11, 1929 and was an active member of the LDS Church. He worked for many years as a coal miner in Spring Canyon and the Castle Gate Mines in Carbon County. In addition ad-dition he was manager of a liquor store in Helper and for the past 24 years was involved in the uranium industry in Moab. Survivors include his wife; three daughters; ; Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) . Wilkinson and Mrs. Hallene Hoffman, both of Duchesne; Mrs. Faye Hyde, Seattle; a nice whom he reared, Mrs. Victor (Irene) Berrichoa, Park City; one brother and three sisters, Mrs. Cleon (Rea) Wilcox, Salt Lake City; Max Thorn, Mrs. Myrtle McNeil and Mrs. Cleon (Elaine) Craig, all of Springville; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab. Census survey set here The U. S. Bureau of the Census will conduct its monthly survey on employment em-ployment and unemployment unem-ployment in this area during the week of March 19, 1979, according to Richard C. Burt, Director of the Bureau's Regional Office in Denver.
