Show Floyd F. Harmer Saturday rites, in Payson for Floyd F. Harmer Funeral services for Floyd Finley Harmer, 65, Utah County Coun-ty commissioner and former well-known resident of Springville, Spring-ville, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Nebo Stake House, 780 North 500 South, Payson. Friends may call at the Jol-ley Jol-ley Mortuary 64 W. 1st No., Payson, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday before the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Ceme-tery. Mr. Harmer died June 17, 1969, in the Utah Valley Hospital Hos-pital of a heart attack. He was born in Springville, May 17, 1904, a son of Eva Hanson and the late Mark Harmer. He lived here until 1939, when he moved to Pay-son Pay-son to be manager of the Utah Poultry Cooperative Assn., a position he held until elected county commissioner in November No-vember 1966. He held numerous civic positions po-sitions including mayor of Pay-son Pay-son 12 years and a member of the Payson Hospital board over 30 years. He served several years on the Utah State Fair board and was also a member of Nebo School District board of education several years and a member of Eldred Manor, board. He was a member and had served as president of the Payson Lions Club and had also served as chairman of his ward church building committee. commit-tee. He married Thelma Bird of Springville in 1925 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Surviving besides his wife, are his mother of Springville; two daughters and a son, Mrs. Allan (Beth) Davis, Provo; Mrs. Vern (Jean) Greener, Los Angeles, Calif.; Dr. Jay Harmer, Har-mer, mayor of Pleasant Grove; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Almon Harmer, Payson; a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. LeRoy (Lois) Anderson, Ander-son, Salt Lake City. |
