Show Funeral held for husband of local lady Funeral sevices were held on Wednesday for Rowley Mecham, 73, Santaquin, who died June 14, 1969, in Orem of a lingering linger-ing illness. His wife is La Vera J. Foote of Springville. Burial Bur-ial was in Orem. He was born Oct. 26, 1895, in Provo, a son of Jonathan James and Elizabeth Duke Mecham. Me-cham. He married Eva Marie Jensen on December 16, 1922, in San Bernardino, Calif. She died July 1, 1962. He later married mar-ried LaVera J. Foote on September Sep-tember 4, 1962, in Springville. Mr. Mecham received his education ed-ucation in Provo City schools and worked as a sheepherder as a young man. He later became be-came employed in the construction construc-tion business. Following his marriage he lived in Pala, Calif., where he was a rancher. In 1923 he moved to Provo and worked for the Provo City Street Department for 40 years. He retired in September of 1961. Mr. Mecham was a member of Provo City Employees Municipal Mu-nicipal League. He was a member of the LDS church. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and he was an avid sportsman. Survivors are his wife of Springville; four sons and five daughters, Robert R. Mecham, Pheonix, Ariz.; Richard J. Mecham. Me-cham. James N. Mecham, Mrs. David M. (Lola Marie) Patten and Mrs. W. William (Linda Kaye) Brown, all of Provo; Donald J. Mecham, Genola; Mrs. Vern C. (Carol) Farmer and Mrs. Carl B. (Gracel Clegg, both of Orem and Mrs. Jerry A. (Mary Elizabeth) O'Neal O'-Neal Tooele, 27 grandchildren; Two ' great grandchildren, and one brother and two sisters, Wells Mecham, San Bernardino, Calif.; Mrs. Amy M. Cloeman, Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Edmund Ed-mund (Ethel) Wedderien. Banning. Ban-ning. Calif. |
