Show Services held for former Springville man Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Saturday in the Palmyra Pal-myra Stake House, Spanish Fork, for Thomas Wilford (Shorty) Williams, 74, a former form-er resident of Springville, who died Wednesday, June 29, 1966, at the Payson Hospital, of a stroke. Burial was in the Spanish Fork Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born Nov. 1 1891 in Springville, the son of David F. and Leah Eggleton Williams. He received his education edu-cation in the Springville schools and Married Hannah Phoebe Jex on Sept. 18, 1918 in the Salt Lake Temple. For a number of years he worked in the Eureka and Dividend Di-vidend mines and later followed construction, working in the Ironton and Geneva Steel Plant and the California Packing Corporation in Spanish Fork. He was a member of the LDS Church and held the office of-fice of high priest in the Spanish Span-ish Fork Eleventh Ward at the time of his death. He also served as chairman of the Group's Fraternal Fund and had done considerable temple work. He was a member of the AFL Union Local No. 653. His survivors include his widow wi-dow of Spanish Fork; three sons, Richard Jex Williams, Lamar J. Williams, of Calif.; J. Ralph Williams, Stockton, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Hannah) Slater, Orem; and Mrs. Lawrence (Beverly) Schramm, Lehi; 17 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, one great grandchild, one brother, David S. Williams, of Mesa, Arizona; and one sister, Mrs. Hilda Christensen, Los Angeles. |
