Show Former resident dies in Provo; relatives here Funeral services were held Monday in Berg Mortuary in Provo, for George Fay Hone, 57, Provo, a former resident of Springville, who died November 25, 1965, at Utah Valley Hospital Hos-pital of a heart attack. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Hone, whose mother, Mrs. George W. Hone; a son, Grant Hone, and a brother, Leo Hone, reside in Springville, was born here, August 15, 1908. He married Phyllis Allen on Aug. 10, 1936, in Provo. He received his early education educa-tion in the Springville schools and graduated from Springville High School. As a young man he worked in the Silver King Mine in Park City. After his marriage he made his home in Park City where he continued mining until 1942 when he moved to Long Beach, Calif. In Long Beach he was employed employ-ed in the ship yards. He moved to Provo in 1943 where he began be-gan employment during construction con-struction of Geneva for the UPM Co., and continued in production where he had worked work-ed in the coke plant as a millwright. mill-wright. He was a member of the LDS Church, holding the office of elder. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Steelworkers Union. Mr. Hone was a rockhound. Surviving are his widow, Provo; three- sons and four daughters, Mrs. John (Marie) Carr, Granger; Mrs. Tracy (Glenna) Johnson of Orem; Grant D. Hone, Springville; Kay Lynn, Allan Fay, LouAnn Hone, and Blaine Lee Hone, all of Provo; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs George W. Hone, Springville; two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth W. (Velma) Law, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. A rthur (Vera) Shepherd, and Mrs. Mark (LaVern) Sheeley, both of Orem; Lewis Hone, Denver, Colorado; Leo Hone, Springville. |
