Show " Funeral rites ield Monday lor L. J. Bate l6 1 Funeral services were, con-jcted con-jcted Monday afternoon at le Wheeler Mortuary, for Les- 93 J. Bate, 70, 630 E. Aaron ve. Bishop Waldo Jacobsen of le Tenth Ward conducted, urial was in the Evergreen smetery. V Mr. Bate was born January r,i, 1894 in Springville, a son Joseph and Clara M. Carter i-ite. He received his education j the Springville schools. He -parried Hazel Scovil in 1914 in y'Ult Lake City. She died in line of 1955. Mr. Bate married , Jrl Potter in Ely on Sept. 28, ,60. He was a farmer in Arco, 1 ; aho, moving to Burley in . 20 where he farmed and nehed until 1960 when he re- 5'ed and moved to Springville. ; was a member of the LDS lurch. While at Burley, he served scoutmaster and financial :rk. Mr. Bate was a director .. the Burley Co-op and a US lllivernment Inspector for the a 1 ttle association. At the time his death he was a member ill the Springville Senior Cit-lilns Cit-lilns Group. Surviving are his widow, Afringville; and the following I .rpchildren: James, Roe and iV'vin Stephenson, of Salt Lake ty; Mrs. LaMar (Sherma) brech, Beaver; and one sis-j", sis-j", Mrs. Harry (Cora) Piper, 2plt Lake City.
