Show Funeral Services Friday For Charles Sanford Services At 2 p.m. In 2nd Ward; Burial To Be In Evergreen Cemetery Funeral services for Charles I. Sanford, 87, well known retired farmer of Springville, who died .. Charles I. .Sanford".. Tuesday morning after a short illness, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m., in the Second ward chapel, under direction of Bishop Oliver H. Dalton. Friends may call at the Claudin Funeral Home Thursday after 6 p.m., and at the home of a son Fred Sanford, 675 East First So., before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Sanford was born in Wells, Iowa, December 26, 1860 and came to Utah with his parents, Ira and Susan Clark Sanford and five brothers and sisters, in 1862. He married Jane Mendenhall in January 1891. She died in 1937 and he had since made, his home with his children and did considerable consid-erable traveling to California and the northwest. ' During his early married life, he operated a farm at Mona for about three years and later engaged in railroad construction work. He, had farmed for a number of years before be-fore his retirement in about 1938. He is survived by seven sons and daughters: Mrs. Blanch Holland, Hol-land, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Holley and Mrs. Iris Jenkins, East Stanwood, Wash.; Mack Sanford, San-ford, Hyland, Calif.; Mrs. Alta Huff, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Melva Smith and Fred Sanford, Springville; Spring-ville; also 19 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Grace Clark of Springville. |
