Show Club City Readies Recreation Park A new all-season recreational park is in the making at Springville. Spring-ville. An area nearly the size of a city block is being filled and leveled to be used as a rodeo ground during the summer and an ice skating pond during the winter. Members- of the Hobble Creek Riding Club, working since early spring with city-loaned equipment, equip-ment, have reclaimed the once-useless once-useless bog at Third West and Third North Streets. Sand and clay were hauled in and the whole area leveled. A fence and chutes are being erected, and in two weeks the bleachers probably prob-ably will be up. Springville City gave the riding rid-ing club the privilege of making the area into a rodeo, ground if its members would do 'the work. The city furnished the material and equipment. It will be flooded flood-ed in freezing weather to form a skating pond. Murray Peay, club president, reports that about two more weeks of work will see the project pro-ject completed. The riding club has Spring-ville's Spring-ville's Fourth of July celebration in charge and the rodeo ground is the first of several projects it plans to undertake, according to Mr. Peay. |
