Show FUNERAL HELD SATURDAY FOR ELLEN MCKENZIE " Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen McKenzie, 89, who died Thursday morning at her home here, were conducted Saturday in the Tiird ward chapel,- under direction of Bishop W. W. Clyde. Interment was in the City cemetery, cemet-ery, under direction of A. Y. i Wheeler and Son Mortuary. Mrs. McKenzie was born in Springville, , December 6, 1858, a ; daughter of William and Christ-eann Christ-eann Alleman Sumsion. Throughout Through-out her life, she had been active in church affairs. She was an officer of-ficer in the early day Retrenchment Retrench-ment Society which later became the M.I.A. and also served as president pres-ident of the Third ward Relief Society a number of years. She was a teacher in Sunday School during her-early life and at the time of her death was a member of the Springville Camp D.TJ.P. She was married to George L. McKenzie in the Salt Lake temple, January 1, 1883. The couple had no children' but during their married mar-ried life have given a home to young people at various times. Survivors include two brothers, Willis Sumsion of Springville and Jesse Sumsion of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Cranmer and Mrs. Emily Crandall; Springville; Spring-ville; a step-mother, Mrs. Annie Sumsion and six half-brothers and half-sisters, Lee and Elmo Sumsion Sum-sion and Mrs. Melba Johnson, Springville; Mrs. Edna Rogers of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lois Hughes of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Louise Brown, Provo. |
