Show LADIES LITERARY CLUB MEMBERS ENTERTAINED Mrs. V. C. Mendenhall was hostess hos-tess at an interesting evening's entertainment last Thursday for the members of the Ladies Literary Liter-ary club. The program was presented pre-sented by Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion and followed a delicious luncheon served by the hostess. Mrs. Sumsion gave the history of the composer, Stephen Foster, and a number of his compositions were rendered during the evening by Mrs. F. C. Packard, who gave vocal solos; Mrs. Elden Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, Mrs V. C. Mendenhall and' Mrs. Bliss Hoover, who entertained entertain-ed with vocal trios, and Mrs. Oliver Oli-ver Dalton and Mrs. E. S. Groes-beck, Groes-beck, who gave vocal duets. Mrs. Max Sumsion and Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion were the accompanists, ; and Mrs. Lacelle Sumsion also gave piano numbers composed by the famous composer. Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen, club president, pres-ident, was in charge of the meeting meet-ing and announced the next one to be conducted on Friday, October Octob-er 26,. the date having been changed from Thursday and the meeting to be held with Mrs. Rea Straw. Nineteen club members and four guests were in attendance. |
