Surviving are her husband and the following sons and daughters: Dr. R. N. Packard, Idaho Falls, Ida.; Wendell S. Packard, Twin Falls, Ida.; Ira C. Packard, Astoria, As-toria, Ore.; Mrs. A. C. (Floss) Johnson, Springville; Mrs. C. I. (Marell) Carter, Riverside, Cal.; Mrs. W. E. (Clara) White, Roy and Mrs. L. B. (Rhea) Tackett, Provo; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Othei Packard died in 1915. Funeral services are being conducted con-ducted Wednesday at the Lind-quist Lind-quist and Sons funeral chapel at Ogden. Burial will be in the City cemetery, Springville. Former Resident Dies In Idaho Hospital Sunday Mrs. Clara S. Packard, Wife Of Dr. N. U. Packard Was Stricken With Heart Attack Mrs. Clara Sanford Packard, 82, wife of Dr. Nephi H. Packard, former Springville and Ogden dentist, died Sunday afternoon in a Twin Falls, Ida. hospital after she had been stricken with a heart attack a few hours earlier. . She was the mother of Mrs. Floss Johnson of this city. She and her husband had been visiting a son, Wendell S. Packard Pack-ard of Twin Falls, during the past few weeks. They had made their home in Roy, Weber county since Dr. Packard retired from his dental practice in Ogden a number num-ber of years ago. Mrs. Packard was born Oct. 19, 1866,in Springville, a daughter daugh-ter of Cyrus and Happylona Clark Sanford. Her mother died when she was but three months and three days xld and she was reared by her stepmother, the former Sylvia Stockwell. 4 She attended the local schools in Springville where she was also active in the various LDS auxiliary aux-iliary organizations. She married Dr. Packard Nov. 18, 1885 in the Logan LDS temple. They resided in Springville where Dr. Packard served as mayor for a few years. In 1913 they made their home in Ogden. Dr. Packard continued the practice of dentistry dentist-ry in Ogden and was known as the oldest practicing dentist in the state prior to his retirement a few years ago. - Mrs. Packard was the first captain cap-tain of the Springville camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Pio-neers organized in Ogden. She was chairman of the survey and research committee of the genealogical genea-logical organization in her Ogden ward. When Dr. Packard served as president of the -18th ward Parents' class, Mrs. Packard was |
