Show WILLIAM TIPTON FUNERAL HELD Funeral services for William Tipton, Tip-ton, 66, Spanish-American war veteran, who died Saturday afternoon after-noon at a Salt Lake hospital, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Fourth. ward chapel, directed by Bishop Leo Robertson. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Tipton had been confined to the hospital since October. He was born in Casey, HI., January 6, 1875. As a young man he came to Springville and at the outbreak of the Spanish-American war enlisted enlist-ed as private in Battery A, Utah regiment of light artillery. He had followed farming most of his life. In 1917 he moved to Arco, Idaho, and later to Caldwell, Idaho, where he lived for a number of years before be-fore returning to Springville. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Erma E. Tipton, and 10 sons and daughters: Mrs. Harry Jones of Jordan Valley, Ore.; Mrs. Lee More, Mrs. James Larsen, Mrs. Floyd Breach, Mrs. George Harris, Blanch and Bert Tipton of Caldwell, Cald-well, Idaho; W. B. Tipton of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Ernest Ward of California; Cali-fornia; Mrs. Andy Johnstone of Murphy, Idaho; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Rebecca Diamond of Springville, and two brothers, John Tipton of Provo and Frank Tipton of Boise, Idaho. |
