Show Funeral Services Saturday, 2 p.m. For A. Y. Wheeler Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Stake House, directed by Bishop Grant Thorn of the Fifth ward, for Alma Y. Wheeler, 75, well-known well-known Springville mortician, who died Wednesday morning at the Payson hospital. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary Friday evening eve-ning and Saturday before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. . Mr. Wheeler had been in ill health since 1950, when he suf- ; 9l 1 A. Y. Wheeler f ered a slight stroke. Tuesday evening, he underwent the second sec-ond major operation in the past several months. .Born , in Springville, a son of Walter and Ellen Maria Child Wheeler, he received his education educa-tion in the schools in this city and learned the undertaking Dusmess trom his father, pioneer pion-eer mortician of this area. He was the senior member of the Wheeler and Son Mortuary, now in the third generation. Mr. Wheeler married Dorothy Stoker of Spanish Fork September Septem-ber 23, 1903, in Springville and their mariage was later solom-nized solom-nized in the Salt Lake Temple. He held the office of High Priest in Springville Stake and has served as president of the Elders Quorum and on the Genealogical Gen-ealogical committee. He was a member of the first volunteer Firemen's Assn and was affiliated with th Utah Funeral Directors Assn. Surviving besides his wife are a son and four daughters Mrs. Frank (Marie) Cranmer Mrs. Lindsay (Inez) Parker Helen and Blaine Wheeler Springville; Mrs. Raymond (Al-eene) (Al-eene) Parker, Tacoma, Wash. 14 grandchildren and four greal grandchildren; also four sisters Mrs. Ella Reynolds, Mrs. A. W (Hilda) Cherrington, Spring ville; Mrs. Matilda Sanford Paul, Ida.; Mrs. Jack Bardole Las Vegas, Nevada. |
