Show S. P. EWING SERVICES HELD Largely attended funeral services ser-vices we're held Tuesday in the Third ward, for Samuel Porter Ewing, of this city who died Saturday Sat-urday at the family residence following fol-lowing a long illness of heart disease dis-ease and complications. Bishop William Witney was in charge of the services. The speakers were Bishop Nelson Nel-son of Mona, Peter Nielson of this city and Bishop Witney. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown gave two vocal duets; R. B. Weight and Will Parry, gave an instrumental duet and Miss Hannah Rowland gave a vocal solo. The invocation was offered by Rapheal Garfield of Mona, and the benediction by Charles Boyer. A. G. Thorn dedicated dedi-cated the grave at the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Ewing was born in Provo, April 3, 18B3, a son of S. P. and Emma Baldwin Ewing. He married mar-ried Margaret Ann Kay September Septem-ber 29, 1882, at Mona. The family fam-ily moved from Mona to Springville Spring-ville in 1900 and Mr. Ewing had lived here since. In his early life he was associated with his father in the contract business. Later he freighted merchandise to early business concerns in this vicinity. Surviving are six sons and daughters, Mrs. Effie Boyer, Miss Arte Ewing; C. B., Archie, Leon and Harry Ewing, Springville; 8 grandchildren; one great grandchild; grand-child; - four sisters, Mrs. Anna Kay, Santaquin; Mrs. Celia Kay, Zeralda, Courtney, Los Angeles, Calif. |
