Show TRIBUTE PAID TO EDUCATOR AT FUNERAL A great tbi-ung of friends and lelatives of (.'hai-les Homer YVentz. principal of the Lincoln school, and former member of the Springville high school faculty, paid glowing tributes at funeral services held in the Grand View ward chapel Tuesday Tues-day afternoon. There were present representatives representa-tives from various schools with which Mr. Wentz had been identified, identi-fied, including a large group of students stu-dents and faculty members of the Springville high school. The services were in charge of ('. L. Hilling, of the Grand View ward bishopric. The opening musical number, "Just For Today." was sung by the Tinipanogns male quartet. quar-tet. Jlishop James II. Clarke of the rilupanogos ward olfered the invocation. invo-cation. A duet entitled, "The Lord is My Shepherd." was then sung by Mrs. Charles II. Davies and her daughter Hita. The sth-akers were President J. F. Bringhurst of the Nebo school board of trustees ; Theodore Farley, senior ! president of the 123rd Quorum of .Seventies: Mayor O. K. Hansen and ('. L. Killing. Interspersing the addresses Mrs. 'navies and daughter sang "His I Love and Care." and as a closing number the quartet sang "The Teacher's Work is Done' The benediction was by Principal E. K. Knudsen of the Springville high school Interment was ill the Provo city cemetery, where tho dedicatory prayer was offered by James H. Jenkins of Hinckley, Millard county. coun-ty. Mr. Wentz was born in Provo, October 2S, 3R71, and received his early education in the public schools of this city and later he was graduated l"om the Young University. For a number of years he was a member of the Springville high school faculty, which position he resigned last year. Throughout his life Mr. Wentz was aelive in the L. D. S. church, having filled a mission from 1897 to ISO!) in the Southern states. At the time of his death be was the junior i president of the 123rd quorum of . seventies of the Utah stake and a teacher in the Grand View ward i Sunday school. |
