Bi- i shop Richard K. Miner of the Second ward was in charge. j Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed by Wheeler ;j Mortuary. He resided at 640 i So. 1st East. Mr. Anthon had spent the : ! greater portion of his life in ! Springville and was known for !; his cheerful and young out- I look on life. For the past sev- i! eral years, he had spent the j winters with his son Ted and j wife at Wenatehee. ;! Born in Sweden Oct. 3, 1870, ' he came to this country as a ; lad of 12, with his parents who i were converts to the LDS j church. With his family he endured the hardships of early i pioneer life and at an early ! age began work as a mason. He worked on construction laying rock for bridges a j number of years before becom- j ing a brick mason. He wag i proud of his record as a sheep J shearer and at 81 still sheared ! a few to keep in practice. At i this age also, he laid the brick I for a garage in Mapleton. He . laid brick on many of the larger lar-ger public buildings in Spring- ; ville, including the opera house and the bank. ! He married Susannah Evans j in 1872. After her death in 1949, he married Amy Daniel-son. Daniel-son. She also passed away. He is survived by a daughter daugh-ter and three sons by the first marriage, Mrs. Elvin (Belle) Sumsion and Foster Anthon of Springville; Ross Anthon of Magna and Ted of Wenatchee; a son . Clifford died a few years ago; also 21 grandchildren and 58 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and the following fol-lowing step-sons and stepdaughters, step-daughters, Mrs. Vessa D. Johnson of Spanish Fork; Neil Hood, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Carrie D. Hansen of Palmyra; Mrs. Emily D. Liddiard of Provo; Stein Donaldson of Roy; Mrs. Fannie D. Grover and Mrs. Amy D. Grover of California. |
