Show Services held Wednesday for R. W. Hielson Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday afternoon, in the Fourth-Tenth ward chapel, for Russell William Nielsen, 42, who died Saturday evening at the family residence, 190 North Second East of a heart attack. Bishop Verl Whiting of the Fourth ward officiated at the services. Burial was in the Springville cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary and military mil-itary rites were conducted by the Springville American Legion Le-gion Post No. 28. Nielson (Continued from Page One.) were unsuccessful in their attempts at-tempts to revive him. Mr. Nielson was born April 28, 1918. in Pleasant Grove, a son of Harry E. and Persha Dun-ant Nielson. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. Semin-ary. Ne graduated from Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University in 1947 with a degree in physical education. edu-cation. While there he was outstanding out-standing in athletics and held records in splinting for a number num-ber of years. An ardent sport-man, sport-man, he loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Nielson served with the Pleasant Grove National Guard unit for five years in the European Eu-ropean theater during World War II. At the time of his death he was employed in construction con-struction work by Tolboe and Harlin Construction Company. He was an elder in the LDS Church. He married Laura Banner of Springville in 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Russell LaRell and Lee Roy Nielson, all of Springville; his mother of Pleasant Grove; two brothers bro-thers and three sisters, Harold Nielson, Raymond Nielson and Mrs. Lowell (Bobbie) Douval, all of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. |
