Show Funeral rites held Tuesday for Mrs. Wagner Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Tuesday afternoon in the Tenth LDS ward for Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Wagner, 87, who passed away Friday evening, even-ing, at the Utah Valley Hospital Hospi-tal after a short illness. Bishop Grant Nielson of the Tenth ward, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Mrs. Wagner was born at St. George, July 30, 1873, a daughter of Henry H. and Elizabeth Eli-zabeth Blake Riding. She spent her early life in that city and attended schools there. She was married to Charles William Larsen November 14, 1889, in the St. George LDS Temple. He died in 1926. In 1927, she went to Le-Grande, Le-Grande, Oreg., to be with a brother and met and married Sam E. Wagner, a railroad employee. They made their home in Oregon, until his retirement re-tirement when they moved to Springville in 1940. He died in 1942. Mrs. Wagner was active in LDS church work in St. George where she sang in the choir. She served as a Relief Society teacher there and in Springville. She was also a member of the DUP. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Vern (Ada) Cannon of St. George and Mrs. Elgin (Ella) Mellor of Fayette; nine grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother, A. B. Riding of Springville. See picture page two. |
