Show Former Resident Dies in Oresn; Funeral Friday Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m., at the Berg Mortuary for Jesse Sum-sion, Sum-sion, 71, native of this city, who died Tuesday at the family fam-ily residence in Orem of a heart attack. He was born in Springville Aug. 16, 1883, a son of Wm. and Christeann Mary Alleman Sumsion and spent his early life in this city. He attended school here and at the BYU. He had held various positions with Kennecott Copper, the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. and other firms and they had lived at various times in Spanish Fork, Bingham, Magna, Vineyard Vine-yard and Salt Lake, moving to Orem in June this year. He was active in the LDS church and had served in" the Vineyard bishopric. Surviving are his wife, Lily May Clinger Sumsion and six sons and daughters, William G. Sumsion and Mrs. J. Erval (Norma) Christensen, both of Orem; Mrs. Ray (Pauline) Gammon, Mrs. Max (Areta) Blake, both of Vineyard; Mrs. George R. (Kathryn) Blake of St. Paul, Minn.; J. Clyde Sumsion Sum-sion of Springfield, Mass. Twenty-nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three brothers and six sisters: Mrs. Emily Crandall, Mrs. Emma Cranmer, Willis Sumsion, Lee G. Sumsion, Elmo Sumsion and Mrs. George (Melba) Johnson, all of Springville, and Mrs. Bailey (Lois) Hughes, Los Angeles; An-geles; Mrs. Marvin (Edna.) Mangus of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Fred (Louise) Brown of Provo. |
