Funeral Services Today, 1 p.m.f For Ruel Averett Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the Fourth ward church for Ruel Averett, 71, who died Monday at his home of a heart ailment. Bishop Glenn Tipton of the Fourth ward will officiate. Friends may call at the Wheeler Wheel-er Mortuary before the services. ser-vices. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Averett was born in Springville February 4, 1887, a son of John and Charlotte Weight Averett. He attended schools in this city and has lived here the greater portion of his life. He worked as a meat cutter for many years and also operated op-erated his own grocery store. Later he was with the Springville Spring-ville police force for several years and had worked as a sanitary inspector for Utah (Continued on Page 2, Col. 5) i Funeral Services Today For Ruel Averett (Continued from Page 1) county 15 years, retiring a short time ago. He had also served as a member of the Springville Volunteer Vol-unteer Fire Department earlier in his life. He married Grace Wignal of Springville, January -10, 1907 and the couple observed their Golden Wedding anniversary last year. Surviving are his wife and seven sons and daughters: Mrs. Ray (Mabel) Simkins, Mrs. Paul (Fay) Haymond, Mrs. Hardy (Norma) Child, and Gene Averett all of Springville; Blaine Averett of Fullerton, Calif.; Ronald Averett of Delta, Del-ta, Colo, and Dean Averett of Provo. There are also 23 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lionel Averett, Salt Lake City and Fred Averett of Springville Spring-ville and two sistersr Mrs. Pearl Hall and Mrs. B. J. (Ven-na) (Ven-na) Vincent, Springville. |
