Show iimiiiiitimiiiiniiiHimiuiim Family To Celebrate Three birthdays Thanksgiving day this year will be especially significant to the family of Mrs. Emily Hatch. It will mark the eighty-sixth birthday anniversary of their mother, Mrs. Emily C. Hatch, widow of Thad-deus Thad-deus T. Hatch, early pioneer, and also the birthdays of her son, Theodore Theo-dore Hatch, of Provo, and a daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Maude Benedict, of Og-den. Og-den. Celebrating the occasion, the family plans to have Thanksgiving and a birthday dinner at the Hatch home Thursday. A large group of relatives are expected. Mrs. Hatch was born in Sheffield, Shef-field, Yorkshire, England, Novem- ber 26, 1856, and came to Utah with her parents, William and Sarah E. Oates Clegg, in 1862, as converts to the L. D. S. faith. The family crossed the ocean in an old sailing vessel. In 1863, the family moved to Springville and Mrs. Hatch has lived here since. Her health at times is good. She recalls many hard trials of early .pioneers of this community. She took an active part in church affairs in her earlier life. Mrs. Hatch has eight sons and daughters: Mr. Hatch of Provo, Mrs. Benedict of Ogden, Mrs. Stella Stel-la Wixom and Mrs. Myrtle Con-over Con-over of Springville, Mrs. Adele Johnson and T. LeMoyne Hatch of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Leelyn Bjarn-son Bjarn-son of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Ro-wena Ro-wena Stewart of Ketchum, Ida.; also 28 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren. |
