Show SPRINGVILLE HOME LOOTED TWICEIN YEAR Harry Schroeder Serves 11 Months in Penitentiary, Returns, Re-turns, Robs Same Home Fifteen days after being released from the L'tnh state penitentiary where he had served an eleven nnd n half months' sentence for burglarizing burglar-izing the home of G. V. Graham of Springville, Harry Schroeder returned re-turned to Springville and again burglarized bur-glarized the Graham home taking with him'n passbook with n savings bank In El Paso, Texas where Graham Gra-ham had on deposit $10(X). Schroeder Schroe-der is alleged to have been assisted in the, theft by Joseph LeDoux who was released from the penitentiary on. the same day as Schroeder nf'er having served nine and a half months on a third degree burglary charge at Ogden. Both men are held in Utah county jn 11 nnd bnve confessed the Graham burglary to Sheriff J. D. Boyd and Deputy Otto Birk. :. According . to the confession, Schroeder and LeDoux -came to Springvillo on Memorial day for the avowed purpose of burglarizing the Graham home. After taking the pnsslxik the two went to Salt Lake where Schroeder gave a check on the strength of the passbook fop $418 as payment on a used car. He signed the name of G. W. Graham to the check. Before turning over the car, however, the auto company wired the El Paso bank if they would honor the check. The bnnk wired Mr. Graham who in turn Indtified Sheriff Boyd of the theft. I Monday night while Sheriff Boyd and Deputy Blrk were searching SSalt Lake for Schroeder, he and Le- Doux 'Were ' staying at Pleasant Grove. . Early Tuesday morning the two men were arrested by Sheriff Boyd ns he picked them up on the state hlgbway near the Llndon hill. They were. on their way to Provo Bench. ' At first they denied any knowledge knowl-edge of .the theft, but after being taken ! to Salt Lake Tuesday nfter-noon nfter-noon and identified by the auto salesmen' sales-men' asV the men- who issued the check they .confessed to the burglary. Both men wjll be tried on' a charge :of . burglary and will no doubt -be back -in the state penitentiary peniten-tiary before the end of the week. -': About a yfnr ago Schroeder stole some bank' books from the Grabnm ! home in Springville and had cashed several hundred dollars at a Salt Lake bank when he was arrested. |
