Seldom, if ever a worthier cause is at hand than the amusement of the old folks, and what little we can do to make their pathways bright now is but small remuneration for the years of struggle and hardship they have gone through to give us the comforts of civilization. h e. Boyd last Saturday afternoon over the remains Patrons of the Spanish Fork City water works are hereby once and again warned against the careless wasting of water. The situation now is such, that a great number of people living In the upier part of the rity are actually suffering on account of shortage of water for culinary use. This ia not necessary, as there is plenty of water if the people would ue it for legitimate purposes only. Further more, the water pressure is constantly so low that in case theie should be a fire of any consequence the fire boys would le powerless to cope with it. We, must therefore rigidly enforce the law relating to violations of the ordinance on water works, and one or more detectives will be hired to catch violators of the law. There must be no spraying of lawns except by those who have paid for same, and only during the time that has been given tht m. Hydrants and taps must be closed at night, and lifter 10 o'cl ick in the evening spraying of lawns must cease; and all spraying must b through nezzles or other apthat purpose that have not paratus larger than a quarter inch outlet. Those using the wnter for power purposes such as running washing mt'tora, and have not paid for same, are hereby notified to apply fur permit to the Superintendent of Water woi kb; said jrmit c sta $2.00 per year. This warning is given because we do not wish to have any of the patrons of the c ty waterworks ifet into trouble, but those who willful y and selfishly waste water, when iheir neighbors and friends are suffering on account of their wastefullness, will have to suffer the penalties prescribed by the ordinances governing the control of the water. It must be remembered that though irrigation water ia scarce, waterworks water cannot be furnished for irrigati' : ' on purposes. E. C. CPRISTI ANSON.
