MOUNTAIN MEN: Sherri Smithee's fourth grade class at Park School culminated their studies of the Utah Mountain Men by having a class rendezvous. In earlier weeks the students had made their own possibles bags, t-shirts were dyed using tea bags to look like buckskin and then beads were added. On the day of the rendezvous students participated in various activities to simulate a rendezvous experience: pin the tail on the beaver, stick pull, arm wrestling, and ring toss onto elk antlers. Loafer and Canyon Elementary, said, "Thank you for the wonderful books. I am excited to use them in classrooms as I teach reading and writing strategies at Canyon and Mt. Loafer Elementary schools. "Whenever the Nebo Education Foundation can enrich classrooms with additional books to meet the needs of students reading levels and interests, we know we are making a difference in the education of those students, said Lynda Hales, President. "It is so difficult to encourage the love of reading and exploring the written word when there are no great books around to peak interest. What could be more exciting that a new, up-to-date book? I hope nothing!" The Nebo Education Foundation functions through generous donations made by individuals and businesses. The Foundation helps Nebo School District students to an enriched education.
