Salem was able to benefit greatly from the lack of varsity wrestlers on the Timp squad, as they were the recipients of 12 points from two forfeits at the 103 and 119 weight classifications. One of the things the Salem did well at was pinning their opponents, as noted by Coach Brindley "We had a lot of pins and we were good at finishing, but we also need to work on not giving up so many pins." Although Salem did well and was able to win in convincing fashion, it was evident that there is still work that needs to be done, specifically in the area of conditioning. "We did a lot of things well, but we need to work a lot more on our conditioning, and that will be a focus going into this next week," said Coach Brindley Salem dominated early, building a 30-6 lead early, from two forfeits and three pins and were able to cruise from there. The match started at the 103 weight classification: 103- Spencer Davis wins by forfeit. 112- Chase Wilson wins in a fist round pin. See SALEM • A9 |
