J 95 North State Rd. 198 Salem 801.723.0500 :••>...,•••<•- Remembering Heidi Janene Baadsgaard the harvest. Thought and action is real; possessions and recognition a slippery illusion. Ultimately, we keep only who we have become, what we've learned, and the gifts we've willingly shared. The most important journey of life is finding our true self by losing our selfish self. What we embrace, create and share becomes our eventual reality. We finally find our way back home when we relish the simple things in life and we are at peace with our self. And that's how we truly make a home for the decades. Janene Baadsgaard is the author of many books, including "15 Secrets to a Happy Home," "Families Who Laugh - Last" "On the Roller Coaster Called Motherhood," " Winter!s Promise," "Financial Freedom for LDSFamilies""and" "The LDS Mother's Almanac." Read her past columns at www.janenebaadsgaard.blogspot.com. Recently, Spanish Fork learned of the death of Heidi Kay Daley. What a blow to our community! She was definitely a big part of not only Spanish Fork, but all of Utah. She had more people who wrote in the online memorial than any one person I know. I would really like to publicly write to her family, especially Beau Diamond and Lynda Kay Daley. First off, I need them to know that Heidi was more than my best friend, she was like my sister. My name is Kathy Bona Conger, and her family was just like my family — they always welcomed me with such warmth. I tried so hard to go to her funeral, but every time I took a step forward, one foot would go back. In the last three years I had to bury my sister, Mechel Bona, and my beautiful 17-year-old son, Brady Conger. Heidi was there — also Lynda. Heidi was always there, no matter what. Heidi took work off to attend the court hearing at the death of my son. No one will ever know the feeling I got in my heart when I saw her there. But that was Heidi. That was the kind of person she was. My heart hurts so much for her family. I could not even look Lynda in her eyes because I'm so terrified to see the pain of burying a child, especially Heidi. Anyone she knew — and anyone who ever met the Daleys — definitely left touched in their heart. For me personally, I need to pretend that Heidi is still in Spanish Fork. I talk to her on a daily basis. I know in my heart she's at peace, with her father, Bob Daley, and my sister and son, looking down, trying to let everyone know that she's still here. She lives in everyone she ever touched. What a beautiful woman inside and out she was! God bless you, Lynda, Beau, Key, Cindy, Darin and Marni — all of her family! My" public apologyfbr your loss.
