SFJHS sings a Super Bowl concert Sharon Hopkins 'V\ Super Bowl Choir Concert" was presented on January 14, 2009 in great form by many of the players, who were pumped up with enthusiasm and pre- pared for a winning performance. The "game plan" included plays that were serious, funny, and some were sports-related, all of which entertained ihe fans. .Solos of many vocal athletes represented the myriad talents of all choir members. "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" was executed by the Men's Chorus in themes of football, basketball, and the familiar baseball lyrics of which the audience was invited to sing along. SSA implemented some creative action in "Fame" as team members executed cartwheels, roundoffs, and flips. A little healthy gender competition was exhibited in "Anything You Can Do" by the Concert Choir, and the Women's Chorus completed excellent performances with "Let the River Run," complete with vaporous fog, and the ethereal "Out of the Morning." Show Choir showed off their prowess with basketball drills while singing "Getcha Head in the Game." And in the final seconds of this outstanding exhibition, all players par- ticipated in "Football Frenzy" with carefully executed rhythms, chants, and cheers. The fans were strikingly entertained by the talents of these young people and their teacher and conductor, Mrs. Sharon Hopkins. Go, Team, Go!! It was a pleasure to have all the former principals from the past fifty years come back and help us celebrate. Also there was two of the original members of the 1959 faculty; Ray Thomas, who taught fifth-grade and Sterling Swenson, who taught fourth-grade. We were also pleased to have Superintendent Chris Sorenson, Nedra Call, Rick Nielson, and Julie Warren from the District Office come and share a luncheon with the current staff. It was nice to be able to reminisce and spend time with these special guests.
