They lost both games, which was very disheartening because they beat both these teams in previous games. Pleasant Grove won 47-35 but not without a fight At the half, the score was 20-26 with PG ahead and they out scored us in the second half by 6 points. There were 18 jump balls called throughout the game and two Spanish Fork players nearly fouled out. Jen Huntsman led the scoring with 15 points, Caitlin Urmston-12, Brooke Thurgood-4, and Shandy Elliot and LaShae Peterson each with 4. Haileigh Emerine came on strong in the first half scoring 15 points. In the second half Lone Peak scored 22 points to our 20, ending the game with a score of 4852. Haileigh Emerine led the scoring with 19 total points. LaShae Peterson scored 9, Caitlin Urmston and Brooke Kramer contributed 5 each, Jen Huntsman and Brooke Thurgood-4 and Sondra Novak-2. "We have had a rough couple games, shots haven't been falling, and we have had a little foul trouble. After the first three indoor meets held in the state, David's 2:02.69 effort ranks at the top. Nester's time came at the Weber State Invitational two weeks ago. To bring this into perspective and add more luster, Nester beat the defending state 3 A champion Franco Montes of Ogden High School. Montes is considered the top half-miler in Utah coming back from last year's track season. Also running well for the Dons so far are senior quarter-milers Brandon Poulter and Justin Crandall, along with sprinter lyier Hull. Leading the way for the girls are sprinter Jenn Youd and distance runners Ashley Phelps and Bethany Carson. Senior Ashley Shelley has also shown early season promise. The next event will David Nester be the UHSTCA Invitational at the Olympic Oval in Kearns, home of the only fullsize indoor Mondo track in the nation. Spanish Fork track coaches are also exited about a group of boys shot-putters led by throw coaches Todd Jackson and Brooks Ward, Uili Makai and Tevita Vaitohi are expected to compete for top throwing honors in the region this year.
