July 21 Conditioning The conditioning days are required to get pads. The state has issued a warning that no players should receive pads without attending the proper conditioning period. Athletes should be running all summer. Tryouts are Monday, Aug. 4 at 8 a.m. at Spanish Oaks Golf Course. You should sign up at the course before that date. The above dates and times are the official start of the season. They took first place in the Rocky Mountain School of Baseball Memorial Day Tournament 13u division. The Memorial Day Tournament was completed on June 21, 2008 due to the rain we received on Memorial Day weekend. X-treme 9u team wins tournaments The Spanish Fork XTreme 9 and Under baseball team were finally able to win the Memorial Day Tournament Saturday, June 21,2008. They began the tournament May 23 and 24, 2008, playing pool games. They won three and lost one, but with the combination of their record and the low amount of runs allowed, they were able to make it into the final bracket. Due to weather on Memorial Day, the games were postponed. Nearly a month later, they finally got their chance to play. The games got under way Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. in the blistering heat. In their first game, they defeated the T-Wolves 2 5 5. With a 10-minute break, they swung right into their next game against the Utah Storm. After an hour and 45 minutes, it was X-Treme 21, Storm 6. Team Rock. The game got underway at 5:15 p.m., and both teams came out swinging. Team Rock jumped to an early lead 13-3, but XTreme didn't give up and Dons' Sports Broadcast LIVE on two eight-run innings later, they were on top 19-14. Three hours and 10 minutes later, the game ended with a final score X-Treme 25-Team Rock 18. The Spanish Fork XTreme won the Pizza Factory Tournament in April, the Memorial Day Tournament, and also went Undefeated this Season with a record of 16-0. -N e got you covered SAM'S PREP OF THE WEEK SAVE ON THE SIGNS OF YOUR TIMES Chase Castleberry • Senior - Baseball • Pitcher Chase Castleberry has been marvelous on the mound for the Spanish Fork Dons 17u Baseball Team. His last two starts he's thrown complete game victories and has done it holding the Don's opponents to some pretty impressive numbers. His last outing being his best of the year as he threw a 2-hit shut-out. Over the two games he has an ERA of 1.08,18 strikeouts, four walks and held the opposing hitters to a paltry 134 batting average.
