Rudd is skilled at helping teachers to improve upon their own best practices through observation, modeling, and collaboration. Rudd's motto is from Mr. Magorium, "Your life is an occasion, so rise to it." Elementary director, Rick Nielsen, said, "Her success in the classroom and skills with developing best practice in others will make her an outstanding principal at Mt. Loafer Elementary school." • Rudd said. "I've worked with some incredible people who have encouraged me to continue moving in my career. I want to thank Sara Matis and Dwight Liddiard for the wonderful administrative examples they arc and for taking the time lo teach me. I want to thank all the school teams I've worked with because education is all about collaboration and working collectively for the betterment of students. I've always felt that hard Alicia Rudd was appointed by the Nebo Board of Education as the Principal of Mt. Loafer Elementary, replacing LaJeanne Baadsgaard, who is going lo Canyon Elementary as Principal. Alicia Rudd has been an outstanding teacher in Nebo School District for , 13 years. She was a Title I icacher and coordinator at Park View Elementary for one year, transitional first' L-iadc teacher at Larsen T.lcmeniary for nine years, second-grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary for one year, and staffdeveloper -a! Westside Elementary for -one year. Rudd was selected as Teacher of the Year for 2006 by Nebo School District. \She is a master teacher in all curriculum areas and one who knows how to effectively facilitate change. She is an instructional leader who has a good grasp of best practice and always implements whatever strategies are needed to ensure student success in Alicia Rudd work will get you where you want. I am ready and excited to work hard for the teachers, students, staff, and parents of Mt. Loafer. I would like to thank Jeanne Baadsgaard for making Mt. Loafer the exceptional school it is.'1 Rudd enjoys reading, running, and spending time with family and friends. She is the daughter of Shirl and Jean Olson of Spanish Fork. She and her husband. The orchestra, Encore, directed by Denise Jamsa, consists of students of elementary ages. Mt. Loafer's own Jocelyn Baker was one of the talented musicians who performed for her peers. Beyal receives $1,000 grant RELAX REFRESH RENEW Mother's Day Makeover Brenda Beyal, a multi-age teacher at Rees Elementary, received a $1,000 grant from Target to take 400 students on a field trip to the Salt Lake City Capitol'Theater to see the Ririe Woodbury Dance Company. With the nation's schools facing increasing budget shortages each year, field trips are often one of the first elements eliminated from the curriculum. The Target Field Trip Grants Program, which launched in September 2006, distributed 1,600 grants totaling $] .6 million in funds this year to education professionals to help fill this gap, so that teachers may continue using the valuable experiential learning gained from field trips to enhance students' classroom studies. The grant is used to cover cost of transportation, entry fees, supplies and equipment, and resource materials. The Target Field Trip Grants Program demonstrates the company's commitment to educational support for America's schools. As a cornerstone of the giving program. Target educational programs focus on supporting K-12 teachers and classrooms, and early childhood reading. Target also supports schools and educational organizations through local grant donations.
